Submissions for 2022

Welcome to our new season! Submit your film now!

Submission Deadline: 31 May 2022

The Canadian Labour International Film Festival (CLiFF) features films made by, for, and about the world of work and those who do it, across Canada and around the world. The films we showcase are about unionized workers, as well as those not represented by unions. We encourage projects regarding any and every aspect of work, as well as issues affecting work or workers. The festival draws trade unionists, community members, youth, activists, students, educators, artists, and allies from across Canada and internationally.

We are looking for films that fall on a wide spectrum of labour and worker issues. Send us your films about young workers, Indigenous workers, immigrant workers, refugees, detainees, health and safety issues, stories of resistance, labour art, poetry, 2SLGBTQI+ folks, taxi drivers, truck drivers, rickshaw drivers – anyone who does anything considered work. We encourage submission of projects that portray any and every aspect of work, as well as any issues affecting work or workers. We also encourage the widest possible variety of films formats: from documentaries to drama to poetry and poetic treatments to comedy and animation.

The generous support of our many donors allows CLiFF to pay artist fees and provide several cash prizes for our award winning films. This is an excellent opportunity for filmmakers of all experience levels to build an audience for their films and help fund further works.
